How We Use Advanced Dental Technology
Advanced dental technology includes specialized diagnostic and treatment tools that allow us to see dental structures in greater detail and perform endodontic care with increased precision. At Prime Endodontics, technology plays an important role throughout the entire treatment process, from identifying the source of tooth pain to planning and completing complex procedures. Our practice uses technologies such as PreXion cone beam imaging, Fotona laser systems, Carestream digital X-rays, microscopes, and electronic measurement tools. These resources help us provide individualized care while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
At Prime Endodontics, advanced technology helps us diagnose complex dental conditions, plan treatment with greater precision, and provide a more comfortable patient experience. From high-resolution 3D imaging to laser-assisted endodontics and microscope-enhanced care, our technology supports our goal of preserving natural teeth whenever possible. Benefits of Using Advanced Dental Technology
- More Detailed Diagnosis: Advanced imaging can reveal anatomical details and dental conditions that may be difficult to identify with conventional methods alone. We use high-resolution 3D CBCT imaging to evaluate every case and help identify concerns such as fractures, calcified canals, resorptive defects, infections, and complex root anatomy.
- Greater Treatment Precision: Magnification, digital imaging, electronic measurement, and laser technology give us additional information and control during endodontic procedures. These tools support precise treatment planning and allow us to work conservatively whenever possible.
- Improved Patient Comfort: Technology can help make diagnosis and treatment more efficient while supporting a comfortable experience. We also offer tools and amenities intended to reduce stress, including computer-guided dental anesthesia technology, TENS technology, noise-cancelling headphones, and digital monitors.
- Support for Complex Cases: Endodontic problems are not always visible on a standard dental X-ray. Advanced 3D imaging, microscopes, lasers, and other specialized tools help us evaluate and treat challenging cases with greater confidence.
Types of Advanced Dental Technology We Provide
- Cone Beam CT: We use PreXion cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT, to create detailed 3D images of the teeth, roots, bone, and surrounding structures. Every case is evaluated with CBCT imaging to help us detect complex anatomy, fractures, calcified canals, resorptive defects, and other conditions that may not be clearly visible on conventional dental X-rays.
- Hard Tissue Laser: We use Fotona hard tissue laser technology as part of our advanced treatment capabilities. The technology can be used for applications involving hard dental structures and supports precise treatment in selected endodontic, surgical, and restorative procedures.
- Soft Tissue Laser: Fotona soft tissue laser technology allows us to work precisely with gum and other soft tissues when appropriate. The strategy document identifies applications including granulation tissue removal, incision and drainage, surgical debridement, hemostasis, and wound decontamination.
- MLS Laser: Prime Endodontics also uses MLS laser technology to support applications involving pain management, postoperative comfort, healing, and tissue recovery depending on the patient’s condition and treatment needs.
- Digital X-Ray: Carestream digital X-ray technology provides detailed images that can be reviewed quickly during diagnosis and treatment. Digital radiography complements our other imaging tools and helps us evaluate tooth structure, roots, and surrounding areas.
- TENS Unit: A TENS unit uses gentle electrical stimulation and may be incorporated into care when appropriate.
- Microscopes and Imaging: Surgical microscopes provide enhanced magnification and illumination during endodontic procedures. This increased visibility can help Dr. Mona identify small anatomical details and perform treatment with greater precision, particularly in complex root canal cases.
- Digital Intra-oral Cameras: Digital intra-oral cameras provide close-up images of areas inside the mouth. These images can support examination and documentation while also making it easier to show patients what we are seeing and explain relevant findings.
- Computer Guided Dental Anesthesia: Computer-guided dental anesthesia is intended to support controlled anesthetic delivery and complements our overall focus on making endodontic treatment as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
- Electronic Apex Locator: An electronic apex locator helps determine the working length of a root canal during endodontic treatment. This measurement supports precise cleaning and treatment of the root canal system.
